Here in Ystad beats the heart of HydX. 

– HydX is a soft company that works in a tough market, says Mikael Andersson, MD.

 

It has been ten years since five guys from Ystad founded HydX, a company where simplicity is a keyword - it should be easy to do business with HydX. We have the ability to design, draft and manufacture our own hydraulic units, but we also sell hydraulics for mobile and marine applications, often in the form of component systems. We are happy to take a holistic approach and can even programme and deliver control systems; so that our customers can receive complete systems that include both hydraulics and control systems. Our head office, our beating heart, is located in Ystad along the southern coast of Skåne, but we also have offices in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Finland. 

- The core of the company comes from Ystad and strategically it’s a good base. We are close to flight connections from both Malmö and Copenhagen airports, says Mikael Andersson, MD, who also co-founded the company in the autumn of 2009. 

- The benefit of living and working in a small town is the quality of life, yet we work both nationally and internationally. We have the opportunity to experience great contrasts. Today, HydX is an international company with customers from most parts of the world, but was founded and still has its heart in a small town on the south-eastern coast of Sweden. 

 

Simple, flexible and with focus on the customer  

At our Ystad head office, you’ll find our sales, customer support, purchasing, technology, assembly, warehousing and finance departments. On average, about 450 sales orders pass our head office every month and during this period, between 150 and 200 work orders are processed within our production facilities here in Ystad. 

All goods destined to Finland pass our head office to be repackaged before being forwarded to the customer and since 2018, when we acquired Mini Power Systems, even these components now have a natural place here at the head office in Ystad. 

- For us it is important that our colleagues all know the HydX ethos, meaning colleagues have great freedom under responsibility. We outline the vision, but they define how to achieve it, we don’t get hung up on prestige, here we help each other. It is very important that we are open about our individual skillsets and are willing to share them. 

At HydX, our keywords are simplicity and customer focus. We aim to: deliver simple solutions that simplify the customer's everyday life, to be easy to work with, and to be always ready to give our customers the best possible service. 

- It should be easy to work with us, we sell a complete package of hydraulics and control systems, says Mikael Andersson. 

- We have longstanding collaborations with several of our suppliers and we think that it is incredibly important with relations, to our staff, to our customers and to our suppliers. These basic values ​​are important to us. 

HydX is a company that works with hard materials and technically advanced solutions, but which has soft values ​​that give us the opportunity to focus on simple and flexible teamwork
